While Volkswagen seems to have definitely left out of global leadership as a manufacturer car after the scandal of emissions, now seems to be Renault-Nissan alliance which wants to put on the ropes the current leader, the Toyota Group.
So far with brands of Franco-Japanese alliance was very difficult to reach because Dacia Toyota, Samsung, Infiniti, Datsun and AvtoVAZ do not move a new unit really important to upstage the Toyota empire. However with the purchase of Mitsubishi by Nissan this may change.
so far Nissan has not materialized the acquisition of Mitsubishi and will have to wait until October to know the exact percentage will have in his possession . What seems certain is that in the coming years both manufacturers will share platforms and engines to reduce costs.
If all goes as expected analysts the alliance Renault- Nissan could take a significant advantage to the Toyota Group in 2023 to 1.2 million units , a figure that surely lay wrong with Toyota. Meanwhile even reach that figure in 2017 could already produce global leadership.
